This unit is usually placed in a garage or other unfrequented areas of the home. It also uses ducts that terminate in vents located in several parts of the home.

One advantage to using centralized vacuum cleaners is the absence of bothering with power cords and heavy motor units. Instead, one deals only with portable vacuum heads that can be plugged unto the vents using hoses. The dust gathered goes through the vents and directly unto the motor unit of the system.
